2012 Fantasy Baseball Draft Player Rankings - Outfielders
Matt Kemp - A couple years removed from being batted eighth by Joe Torre (which helped his plate discipline), one year removed from being cheered by girlfriend Rihanna (which helped his ... self esteem), Kemp finally lived up to his MVP potential. This year he might actually win the award.
Ryan Braun - Multiply that by 1.5 now. --The 50 game suspension of Braun shocked us all. But despite missing nearly 1/3 of his games, Braun is still good to hit .310/20/10 in a short season.--
Justin Upton - The younger of the brothers Upton earns his spot in the top of the outfielder class by being a master of all the offensive facets. Justin should hit .300 with 30+ and over 20 stolen bases in a fantastic showing.
Carlos Gonzalez - Needless to say, Carlos loves Coors Field. And he is a good bet to bat .300 with 30 long balls and a good 20 stolen.
Jose Bautista - Joey Bats is indeed the real deal. He has the power to knock over 40 a long ways in the Rogers Centre and also hit .270, give or take 10 points.
Jacoby Ellsbury - Obi Wan Jacoby is an all around force in the game. He should post a 300/20/40 slash line in another all-star caliber effort.
Andrew McCutchen - The Pittsburgh superstar is just going to keep producing. Look for him to hit 20 out of the park, swipe 30, all while hitting .280.
Josh Hamilton - Even the injury risk he is, Josh Hamilton is still a beast at the dish. Expect him to hit 30 homers with a .310 batting average.
Mike Stanton - Stanton has the potential to be the biggest power threat in the game. This year he should hit 40 homeruns while maintaining a .270 average.
Curtis Granderson - As they‘re fond of saying in New York, the Grandy man can. And the Grandy man can deliver a .260/30/20 year for your fantasy team.
Hunter Pence - Hunter should continue to be a big cog in the Philly lineup, batting .300 with 25 bombs and 10 stolen bases, knee-high socks and all.
Matt Holliday - Even in a Pujols-less lineup, Holliday will still bat .300 with upwards of 25 homeruns for St. Louis.
Nelson Cruz - Boomstick should hit 30 long balls in the friendly confines of Arlington while hitting a solid .280.
Jay Bruce - Expect Bruce Almighty to clock over 30 homeruns and post a .270 batting average for Cincinnati.
Michael Bourn - The Braves‘ newly acquired speedy centerfielder is a good bet to steal 50 bags and hit in the .280’s in the ATL.
Desmond Jennings - The Alabama native and current Ray should hit .270/15 and steal 40 bases with relative ease.
Carl Crawford - It‘s pretty safe to assume Crawford will rebound from an awful 2011. Expect him to post an average in the .280’s with 15 homers and 30 steals next year.
Shin-Soo Choo - Choo was the victim of a bit of bad luck and underperformance last year. This season you can count on him to produce a 20/20 season and hit .280 at least.
Brett Gardner - The speedster for the Yanks will bat .270, steal 50, and even bop you a handful of homers.
Alex Gordon - Gordon finally broke out last year with a great season. I conservatively project him to put up a .280/20/15 slash for 2012.
Shane Victorino - The Pineapple Express should hit .280 with 15 homeruns and steal 25 bags and continue to be generally underrated by most.
Adam Jones - Adam “Double Pits to Chesty” Jones will hit about .280, steal 10 or so, and knock 20 plus out of Camden.
Corey Hart - When Wolfman isn‘t wearing his sunglasses at night, he will be busy having a .280/25/10 season for the Crew.
B.J. Upton - Has the power and speed to go 20/40, the only problem for him is making consistent contact, limiting his average to about .250 most years.
Ichiro Suzuki - I expect Ichiro to rebound from a down season and get back to hitting .300 with around 35 steals.
Howard Kendrick - Howiewood should be able to shine and go 15/15 bat .290 under the bright lights.
Nick Markakis - Markakis just never quite developed the power many expected him to. He should bat .290 with 15 homers and 10 stolen bases.
Jayson Werth - Caveman ought to bounce back from a dismal showing last season and put up a good .275/25/15 line. Not quite worth a $100 million, however.
Ben Zobrist - Zorilla is a good candidate for a 20/20 season for sure, and he should bat .270 also.
Cameron Maybin - The Marlins castoff is finally realizing his potential. Next season look for him to steal 35, hit .275, and knock 10 homers.
Michael Morse - Morse should go yard around 2 dozen times and hit .285 on a revamped Nationals squad.
Lance Berkman - Fat Elvis proved he still has some left in the tank and has what it takes to knock 25 out and go on to hit .280 or so.
Andre Ethier - “Endre“ certainly has more late inning heroics up his sleeve, but for the season he should post a .290 batting average with 20 bombs.
Drew Stubbs - Look for Stubbs to replicate his seasons prior and hit around .255 and have a 20/25 year for the big red machine.
Jason Heyward - J-Hey didn‘t resemble the Say-Hey kid last year, but he still has great potential. I think Heyward will grow from the sophomore slump and put up a .270/20/10 line in 2012.
Yoenis Cespedes - The upside of Cespedes warrants this rating. The A's new Cuban outfielder can be a 20-10 guy, very possibly more.
Matt Joyce - Mr. Joyce will power about 20 out of the Trop while batting .270 with a handful of stolen bases too.
Chris Young - Not to be confused with the pitcher, this Chris Young is a 20/20 guy but should only hit in the .250 range.
Carlos Beltran - The veteran outfielder with a few too many bad knees is still getting it done. Expect him to hit 20 homeruns and bat .280, despite missing time from some injury of course.
Nick Swisher - Swish Dog will hit 25 out of the park and post a .265 average for the Yankees in another solid effort.
Adam Lind - Adam “Madman” Lind should have a very similar season to that of Swisher’s. Think .265/25 or so.
Angel Pagan - The ironically named outfielder will have no trouble hitting his way to a .280/10/30 year in his first season by the bay.
Coco Crisp - Coco Covelli Crisp should swipe 40 hit his way to a .270 average. And don’t be shocked if he goes yard a couple of times too.
Jeff Francoeur - Frenchy has the prowess to bat .270 and slap 18 out of the park while stealing maybe a dozen or so. Just don‘t draft him for his on-base skills.
Michael Cuddyer - Affectionately nicknamed Cuddles, Cuddyer will hit you 20 bombs and give you a .275 average.
Brennan Boesch - Boesch should end the season with 18 homers to his credit along with a .280 batting average patrolling Comerica.
Delmon Young - Look for Delmon to bat his way to a .285/15 season for Minnesota.
Ben Revere - The fleet of foot Revere can steel 40 bags easily and hit .275 while doing it.
Logan Morrison - LoMo should hit .270 and launch enough homeruns so each fan in Marlins nation gets their own souvenir, about 20 to be exact.
Mike Trout - The ballyhooed rookie comes into the league with high expectations. Trout is certainly a bit of a wild card, but he is projected to bat .280, hit 10 homers and steal 20, although he has the skills to surpass those projections for sure.
Peter Bourjos - This speedy angel will slap, run, and hustle his way to a .270/13/20 year in his sophomore season.
Austin Jackson - Ajax should put up essentially the same numbers as Bourjos next season in Motown.
